MAX63483-Pin, Ultra-Low-Power SC70/SOT µP Reset Circuits | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 36 | Active | The MAX6326/MAX6327/MAX6328/MAX6346/MAX6347/MAX6348 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits monitor the power supplies in µP and digital systems. These devices provide excellent circuit reliability and low cost by eliminating external components and adjustments when used with 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, and 5V powered circuits. These circuits perform a single function: they assert a reset signal whenever the VCCsupply voltage declines below a preset threshold, keeping it asserted for at least 100ms after VCChas risen above the reset threshold. The only difference between the devices is their output. The MAX6326/MAX6346 (push-pull) and MAX6328/MAX6348 (open-drain) have an active-low reset output. The MAX6327/MAX6347 have an active-high push-pull reset output. All of these parts are guaranteed to be in the correct state for VCCdown to 1V. The reset comparator is designed to ignore fast transients on VCC. Reset thresholds are factory-trimmable between 2.2V and 4.63V, in approximately 100mV increments. Twenty-one standard versions are available. Contact the factory for availability of nonstandard versions.Ultra-low supply currents (1µA max for the MAX6326/MAX6327/MAX6328) make these parts ideal for use in portable equipment. All six devices are available in space-saving SOT23 and SC70 packages.ApplicationsComputers: Desktop, Workstation, ServerControllersCritical µP and µC Power MonitoringIntelligent InstrumentsPortable Battery-Powered Equipment |
MAX6349150mA, SOT23, Low-Dropout Linear Regulators with Internal Microprocessor Reset Circuit | Power Management (PMIC) | 14 | Active | The MAX6329/MAX6349 are low-dropout, micropower linear voltage regulators with integrated microprocessor reset circuits. Each is available with preset +3.3V, +2.5V, +1.8V, or adjustable output voltages and can deliver up to 150mA load current. Employing internal P-channel MOSFET pass transistors, the devices consume only 25µA supply current, independent of the device load. The low supply current, low dropout voltage, and integrated reset functionality make these devices ideal for battery powered portable equipment. The MAX6329/MAX6349 include an internal reset circuit that indicates when the regulator output drops below standard microprocessor supply tolerances (-5% or -10%). The reset output remains asserted for 100ms (min) after the regulator output exceeds the selected reset threshold, ensuring that supply voltages and clock oscillators have stabilized before processor activity is enabled. Reset outputs are available in push-pull (active-low or -high) and open-drain (active-low) options. The internal reset circuit replaces external microprocessor supervisors or RC-based reset time delays. The MAX6329/MAX6349 are optimized for use with a 1µF (min) output capacitor. The regulator output voltage is adjustable with an external resistor-divider network at SET (reset threshold voltages track the desired output voltage). Each device includes thermal shutdown protection, output short-circuit protection, and reverse leakage protection. The MAX6329 includes a shutdown feature to reduce regulator current below 1µA (max) and the MAX6349 offers a manual reset input to assert a microprocessor reset while the regulator output is within specification.ApplicationsAudio SystemsCordless PhonesElectronic PlannersGlobal Positioning Systems (GPS)Handheld Instruments (PDAs, Palmtops)ModemsPalmtop ComputersPCMCIA CardsUSB Devices |
MAX635Preset/Adjustable Output CMOS Inverting Switching Regulators | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 13 | Active | The MAX635/MAX636/MAX637 inverting switching regulators are designed for minimum component DC-DC conversion in the 5mW to 500mW range.Low power applications require only a diode, output filter capacitor, and a low-cost inductor. An additional MOSFET and driver are needed for higher power applications. Low battery detection circuitry is included on chip. The MAX635/MAX636/MAX637 are preset for -5V, -12V, -15V outputs, respectively. However, the regulators can be set to other levels by adding 2 resistors.Maxim manufactures a broad line of step-up, step-down, and inverting DC-DC converters, with features such as logic-level shutdown, adjustable oscillator freuqency, and external MOSFET drive.ApplicationsBattery Power ConversionBoard Level DC-DC ConversionMinimum Component, High -Efficiency DC-DC ConvertersPortable Instruments |

MAX6353Dual/Triple-Voltage µP Supervisory Circuits | Power Management (PMIC) | 20 | Active | The MAX6351-MAX6360 microprocessor (µP) supervisors with multiple reset voltages significantly improve system reliability and accuracy compared to separate ICs or discrete components. If any input supply voltage drops below its associated preset threshold, all reset outputs are asserted. In addition, the outputs are valid as long as either input supply voltage remains greater than +1.0V.All devices in this series have an active-low debounced manual reset input. In addition, the MAX6358/MAX6359/MAX6360 offer a watchdog-timer input with a 46.4s startup timeout period and a 2.9s timeout period. The MAX6355/MAX6356/MAX6357 offer an additional voltage monitor input to monitor a third voltage. The MAX6351 features two active-low, push-pull reset outputs, one is referenced to VCC1 and the other is referenced to VCC2. The MAX6353/MAX6356/MAX6359 offer an active-low, push-pull reset output referenced to VCC1. The MAX6354/MAX6357/MAX6360 offer an active-low, push-pull reset output referenced to VCC2.All these devices are offered with a wide variety of voltage threshold levels, as shown in theVoltage Threshold Levelstable. They are available in 5- and 6-pin SOT23 packages and operate over the extended (-40°C to +85°C) temperature range.ApplicationsComputersControllersIntelligent InstrumentsMultivoltage Systems EquipmentPortable Battery-Powered |
