MAX17221.5µA IQ, Step-Up DC-DC Converters in TSOT and µDFN | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 4 | Active | The MAX1722/MAX1723/MAX1724 compact, high-efficiency, step-up DC-DC converters are available in tiny, 5-pin TSOT packages. They feature an extremely low 1.5µA quiescent supply current to ensure the highest possible light-load efficiency. Optimized for operation from one to two alkaline or nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) cells, or a single Li+ cell, these devices are ideal for applications where extremely low quiescent current and ultra-small size are critical.Built-in synchronous rectification significantly improves efficiency and reduces size and cost by eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode. All three devices feature a 0.5Ω N-channel power switch. The MAX1722/MAX1724 also feature proprietary noise-reduction circuitry, which suppresses electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by the inductor in many step-up applications. The family offers different combinations of fixed or adjustable outputs, shutdown, and EMI reduction (seeSelector Guide).ApplicationsDigital Still CamerasLow-Power Handheld InstrumentsMP3 PlayersPagersPDAs and Other Handheld DevicesPersonal Medical DevicesRemote ControlsRemote Wireless TransmittersSingle-Cell Battery-Powered Devices |

MAX17222400mV to 5.5V Input, nanoPower Synchronous Boost Converter with True Shutdown | DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS Evaluation Boards | 6 | Active | The MAX17220–MAX17225 is a family of ultra-low quiescent current boost (step-up) DC-DC converters with a 225mA/0.5A/1A peak inductor current limit and True Shutdown™. True Shutdown disconnects the output from the input with no forward or reverse current. The output voltage is selectable using a single standard 1% resistor. The 225mA (MAX17220/MAX17221), 500mA (MAX17222/MAX17223), and 1A (MAX17224/MAX17225) peak inductor current limits allow flexibility when choosing inductors. The MAX17220/MAX17222/MAX17224 versions have post-startup enable transient protection (ETP), allowing the output to remain regulated for input voltages down to 400mV, depending on load current. The MAX17220–MAX17225 offer ultra-low quiescent current, small total solution size, and high efficiency throughout the entire load range. The MAX17220–MAX17225 are ideal for battery applications where long battery life is a must.ApplicationsBattery-Powered Medical EquipmentLow-Power Wireless Communication ProductsOptical Heart-Rate Monitoring (OHRM) LED DriversPrimary-Cell Portable SystemsSecondary-Cell Portable SystemsSupercapacitor Backup for Real-Time Clock (RTC)/Alarm BuzzersTiny, Low-Power IoT SensorsWearable Devices |
