M41T81SSerial real-time clock (RTC) with alarm | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 2 | Active | The M41T81S is a low-power serial real-time clock (RTC) with a built-in 32.768 kHz oscillator (external crystal controlled). Eight bytes of the SRAM are used for the clock/calendar function and are configured in binary-coded decimal (BCD) format. An additional 12 bytes of SRAM provide status/control of alarm, watchdog and square wave functions. Addresses and data are transferred serially via a two line, bidirectional I2C interface. The built-in address register is incremented automatically after each WRITE or READ data byte.
The M41T81S has a built-in power sense circuit which detects power failures and automatically switches to the battery supply when a power failure occurs. The energy needed to sustain the clock operations can be supplied by a small lithium button supply when a power failure occurs. Functions available to the user include a non-volatile, time-of-day clock/calendar, alarm interrupts, watchdog timer and programmable square wave output. The eight clock address locations contain the century, year, month, date, day, hour, minute, second and tenths/hundredths of a second in 24-hour BCD format. Corrections for 28, 29 (leap year - valid until year 2100), 30 and 31 day months are made automatically.
The M41T81S is supplied in either an 8-pin SOIC or an 18-pin 300 mil SOIC package which includes an embedded 32 KHz crystal.
The 18-pin, embedded crystal SOIC requires only a user-supplied battery to provide non-volatile operation. |
M41T82Serial I²C bus real-time clock (RTC) with battery switchover | Real Time Clocks | 4 | Active | The M41T8x are low-power serial I2C real-time clocks (RTCs) with a built-in 32.768 kHz oscillator (external crystal-controlled for the QFN16 and SO8 packages, embedded crystal for the SOX18 package). Eight bytes of the register map (see Table 2 on page 23) are used for the clock/calendar function and are configured in binary-coded decimal (BCD) format. An additional 17 bytes of the register map provide status/control of the two alarms, watchdog, 8-bit counter, and square wave functions. An additional seven bytes are made available as user SRAM.
Addresses and data are transferred serially via a two-line, bidirectional I2C interface. The built-in address register is incremented automatically after each WRITE or READ data byte. The M41T8x has a built-in power sense circuit which detects power failures and automatically switches to the battery supply when a power failure occurs. The energy needed to sustain the clock operations can be supplied by a small lithium button battery when a power failure occurs.

Corrections for 28, 29 (leap year), 30, and 31 day months are made automatically. The M41T83 is supplied in either a QFN16 or an SOX18, 300 mil SOIC which includes an embedded 32 KHz crystal. The SOX18 package requires only a user-supplied battery to provide non-volatile operation. The M41T82 is available only in an SO8 package. |

M41T94Serial real-time clock (RTC) with 44 bytes NVRAM and reset | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 3 | Active | The M41T94 is a serial real-time clock with 44 bytes of NVRAM and a RESET output. A built-in 32,768 Hz oscillator (external crystal controlled) and 8 bytes of the SRAM (see Table 4 on page 18) are used for the clock/calendar function and are configured in binary coded decimal (BCD) format.
An additional 12 bytes of RAM provide status/control of alarm, watchdog and square wave functions. Addresses and data are transferred serially via a serial SPI interface. The built-in address register is incremented automatically after each WRITE or READ data byte. The M41T94 has a built-in power sense circuit which detects power failures and automatically switches to the battery supply when a power failure occurs. The energy needed to sustain the SRAM and clock operations can be supplied by a small lithium button-cell supply when a power failure occurs. Functions available to the user include a non-volatile, time-of-day clock/calendar, alarm interrupts, watchdog timer and programmable square wave output. Other features include a power-on reset as well as two additional debounced inputs (RSTIN1andRSTIN2) which can also generate an output reset (RST). The eight clock address locations contain the century, year, month, date, day, hour, minute, second and tenths/hundredths of a second in 24-hour BCD format. Corrections for 28, 29 (leap year - valid until year 2100), 30 and 31 day months are made automatically. The ninth clock address location controls user access to the clock information and also stores the clock software calibration setting.
The M41T94 is supplied in either a 16-lead plastic SOIC (requiring user supplied crystal and battery) or a 28-lead SOIC SNAPHAT®package (which integrates both crystal and battery in a single SNAPHAT top). The 28-pin, 330 mil SOIC provides sockets with gold plated contacts at both ends for direct connection to a separate SNAPHAT housing containing the battery and crystal. The unique design allows the SNAPHAT battery/crystal package to be mounted on top of the SOIC package after the completion of the surface mount process.
Insertion of the SNAPHAT housing after reflow prevents potential battery and crystal damage due to the high temperatures required for device surface-mounting. The SNAPHAT housing is also keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
The SOIC and battery/crystal packages are shipped separately in plastic anti-static tubes or in tape & reel form. For the 28-lead SOIC, the battery/crystal package (e.g., SNAPHAT) part number is "M4TXX-BR12SH". |
M48T025.0 V, 16 Kbit (2 Kb x 8) TIMEKEEPER® SRAM | Real Time Clocks | 2 | Active | The M48T02/12 TIMEKEEPER®RAM is a 2 Kb x 8 non-volatile static RAM and real-time clock which is pin and functional compatible with the DS1642.
A special 24-pin, 600 mil DIP CAPHAT™package houses the M48T02/12 silicon with a quartz crystal and a long life lithium button cell to form a highly integrated battery-backed memory and real-time clock solution.
The M48T02/12 button cell has sufficient capacity and storage life to maintain data and clock functionality for an accumulated time period of at least 10 years in the absence of power over the operating temperature range.
The M48T02/12 is a non-volatile pin and function equivalent to any JEDEC standard 2 Kb x 8 SRAM. It also easily fits into many ROM, EPROM, and EEPROM sockets, providing the non-volatility of PROMs without any requirement for special WRITE timing or limitations on the number of WRITEs that can be performed. |
