MCP342118-Bit, 240SPS, Single Channel ADC | Evaluation Boards | 5 | Active | The MCP3421 ADC can be used for various high accuracy
analog-to-digital data conversion applications where ease of use, low
power consumption and small footprint are major considerations. The
MCP3421 is a single channel low-noise, high accuracy delta-sigma A/D
converter with differential inputs and up to 18 bits of resolution in a
small SOT-23-6 package. Please consider the MCP3425 version for
resolutions up to 16 bits. The on-board precision 2.048V reference
voltage enables a differential input range of ±2.048V. The device uses a
two-wire I2C™ compatible interface and operates from a
single power supply ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V.
The MCP3421 ADC performs conversions at rates of 3.75, 15, 60 or 240
samples per second with corresponding resolutions of 18, 16, 14 and 12 bits.
The onboard programmable gain amplifier (PGA) provides gain up to 8x.
The device has two conversion modes: Continuous mode and One-Shot mode.
In One-Shot mode, the device enters a low current standby mode
automatically after a conversion, greatly reducing power use. |

MCP342418-Bit, 240SPS, 4-Channel ADC | Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) Evaluation Boards | 3 | Active | The MCP3424 is a four channel low-noise, high accuracy delta-sigma A/D converter with differential inputs and up to 18 bits of resolution. The on-board precision 2.048V reference voltage enables an input range of ±2.048V differentially. The device uses a two-wire I2C™ compatible serial interface and operates from a single power supply ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V. The MCP3424 device performs conversions at rates of 3.75, 15, 60 or 240 samples per second depending on user controllable configuration bit settings using the two-wire I2C™ compatible serial interface. The I2C™ address is user configurable with two address selection pins. This device has an onboard programmable gain amplifier (PGA). User can select the PGA gain of x1, x2, x4, or x8 before the analog-to-digital conversion takes place. This allows the MCP3424 device to convert a smaller input signal with high resolution. The device has two conversion modes: (a) Continuous mode and (b) One-Shot mode. In One-Shot mode, the device enters a low current standby mode automatically after one conversion. This reduces current consumption greatly during idle periods. The MCP3424 device can be used for various high accuracy analog-to-digital data conversion applications where ease of use, low power consumption and small footprint are major considerations. |

MCP3461R16-Bit, 153.6kSPS, Single/Dual Channel ADC w/Vref | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 4 | Active | The MCP3461R is a low-noise 16-bit Delta-Sigma Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), with two single-ended or one differential input channels and programmable data rate of up to 153.6 kSPS. It offers integrated features such as internal Vref, oscillator, temperature sensor and burnout sensor detection, in order to reduce system component count and total solution cost.
The MCP3461R ADC is fully configurable with Oversampling Ratio (OSR) from 32 to 98304 and gain from 0.33X to 64X. It includes an internal sequencer(SCAN mode) with multiple monitor channels and a 24-bit timer to be able to automatically create conversion loop sequences without needing MCU communications. Advanced security features such as CRC and register map lock, can guarantee configuration locking and integrity as well as communication data integrity for secure environments.
The device also features a 20 MHz SPI-compatible serial interface. Communication is largely simplified with 8-bit commands, including various continuous Read/Write modes and 24/32-bit multiple data formats that can be accessed by the Direct Memory Access (DMA) of an 8-bit, 16-bit or 32-bit MCU. The MCP3461R is available in an ultra-small, 3 mm x 3 mm UQFN-20, and leaded 6.4 mm x 6.4mm TSSOP-20 package and is specified over an extended temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.
The [MCP3462R](https://www.microchip.com/en-us/product/MCP3462R) is a similar device with two differential (four single-ended) input channel(s), but equivalent performance and functionality.
The [MCP3464R](https://www.microchip.com/en-us/product/MCP3464R) is a similar device with four differential (eight single-ended) input channel(s), but equivalent performance and functionality.
The [MCP3465R](https://www.microchip.com/en-us/product/MCP3465R) is a similar device which sacrifices some features/functions (but retains equivalent performance) in order to fit into a 12-pin 2x2 mm package.
Finally, the [MCP3561R](https://www.microchip.com/en-us/product/MCP3561R) is a 24 bit version of this device. It is pin and software compatible, making for easy transition if it would be valuable to make such a transition down the road.
