MAX121112-Bit, 65Msps, IF Sampling ADC | Analog to Digital Converters (ADC) | 1 | Obsolete | The MAX1211 is a 3.3V, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) featuring a fully differential wideband track-and-hold (T/H) input, driving the internal quantizer. The MAX1211 is optimized for low power, small size, and high dynamic performance in intermediate frequency (IF) sampling applications. This ADC operates from a single 3.0V to 3.6V supply, consuming only 340mW while delivering a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance of 66.8dB at a 175MHz input frequency. The T/H-driven input stage accepts single-ended or differential inputs. In addition to low operating power, the MAX1211 features a 0.15mW power-down mode to conserve power during idle periods.A flexible reference structure allows the MAX1211 to use its internal precision bandgap reference or accept an externally applied reference. A common-mode reference is provided to simplify design and reduce external component count in differential analog input circuits. The MAX1211 supports both a single-ended and differential input clock drive. Wide variations in the clock duty cycle are compensated with the ADC's internal duty-cycle equalizer. The MAX1211 features parallel, CMOS-compatible outputs. The digital output format is pin selectable to be either two's complement or Gray code. A data-valid indicator eliminates external components that are normally required for reliable digital interfacing. A separate power input for the digital outputs accepts a voltage from 1.7V to 3.6V for flexible interfacing with various logic levels. The MAX1211 is available in a 6mm x 6mm x 0.8mm, 40- pin thin QFN package with exposed paddle (EP), and is specified for the extended industrial (-40°C to +85°C) temperature range.See a parametric table of the complete family of pin-compatible, 12-/14-bit high-speed ADCs.ApplicationsCellular, LMDS, Point-to-Point Microwave, MMDS, HFC, WLANIF and Baseband Communication Receivers: Cellular, Point-to-Point Microwave, HFC, WLANLow-Power Data AcquisitionMMDS, HFC, WLANPortable InstrumentationUltrasound and Medical Imaging |

MAX122500ksps, Sampling, 12-Bit ADC with Track/Hold and Reference | Data Acquisition | 20 | Active | The MAX120/MAX122 complete, BiCMOS, sampling 12-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) combine an on-chip track/hold (T/H) and a low-drift voltage reference with fast conversion speeds and low-power consumption. The T/H’s 350ns acquisition time combined with the MAX120’s 1.6µs conversion time results in throughput rates as high as 500k samples per second (ksps). Throughput rates of 333ksps are possible with the 2.6μs conversion time of the MAX122.The MAX120/MAX122 accept analog input voltages from -5V to +5V. The only external components needed are decoupling capacitors for the power-supply and reference voltages. The MAX120 operates with clocks in the 0.1MHz to 8MHz frequency range. The MAX122 accepts 0.1MHz to 5MHz clock frequencies. The MAX120/MAX122 employ a standard microprocessor (µP) interface. Three-state data outputs are configured to operate with 12-bit data buses. Data-access and bus-release timing specifications are compatible with most popular µPs without resorting to wait states. In addition, the MAX120/MAX122 can interface directly to a first-in, first-out (FIFO) buffer, virtually eliminating µP interrupt overhead. All logic inputs and outputs are TTL/CMOS compatible. For applications requiring a serial interface, refer to the MAX121. |
MAX122012-Bit, Multichannel ADCs/DACs with FIFO, Temperature Sensing, and GPIO Ports | ADCs/DACs - Special Purpose | 2 | Active | The MAX1220/MAX1257/MAX1258 is a highly integrated system monitoring and control solution which includes a 16-channel (MAX1257/MAX1258) or 8-ch (MAX1220) 12-bit Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), twelve 12-bit Digital to Analog Converters (DACs), an internal reference, an internal temp sensor, a 4-bit (MAX1220) or 12-bit (MAX1257/MAX1258) GPIO port, and a 25MHz SPI-/QSPI™-/MICROWIRE®- compatible serial interface. The MAX1220 is available in a 36-pin TQFN package. The MAX1257/MAX1258 are available in 48-pin TQFN package. All devices are specified over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.ApplicationsBase-Station Control LoopsControls for Optical ComponentsData Acquisition SystemsSystem Supervision and Control |

MAX122312-Bit, Multichannel ADCs/DACs with FIFO, Temperature Sensing, and GPIO Ports | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 2 | Active | The MAX1221/MAX1223/MAX1343 integrate a multichannel, 12-bit, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and a 12-bit, digital-to-analog converter (DAC) in a single IC. The devices also include a temperature sensor and configurable general-purpose I/O ports (GPIOs) with a 25MHz SPI™-/QSPI™-/MICROWIRE™-compatible serial interface. The ADC is available in a 12 or an eight input-channel version. The DAC outputs settle within 2.0µs, and the ADC has a 225ksps conversion rate. All devices include an internal reference (2.5V) providing a well-regulated, low-noise reference for both the ADC and DAC. Programmable reference modes for the ADC and DAC allow the use of an internal reference, an external reference, or a combination of both. Features such as an internal ±1°C accurate temperature sensor, FIFO, scan modes, programmable internal or external clock modes, data averaging, and AutoShutdown™ allow users to minimize both power consumption and processor requirements. The low glitch energy (4nV•s) and low digital feedthrough (0.5nV•s) of the integrated DACs make these devices ideal for digital control of fast-response closed-loop systems. The devices are guaranteed to operate with a supply voltage from +2.7V to +5.25V. The devices consume 2.5mA at 225ksps throughput, only 22µA at 1ksps throughput, and under 0.2µA in the shutdown mode. The MAX1221/MAX1343 offer four GPIOs that can be configured as inputs or outputs. The MAX1221/MAX1223/MAX1343 are available in 36-pin thin QFN packages. All devices are specified over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.ApplicationsClosed-Loop Controls for Optical Components and Base StationsData Acquisition SystemsSystem Supervision and Control |
