PM6686Dual step-down controller with adjustable voltages, adjustable LDO and auxiliary charge pump controller for notebook | Power Management (PMIC) | 2 | Active | PM6686 is a dual step-down controller specifically designed to provide extremely high efficiency conversion, with lossless current sensing technique. The constant on-time architecture assures fast load transient response and the embedded voltage feed-forward provides nearly constant switching frequency operation. Pulse skipping technique increases efficiency at very light load. Moreover a minimum switching frequency of 33 kHz is selectable to avoid audio noise issues. The PM6686 provides a selectable switching frequency, allowing three different values of switching frequencies for the two switching sections. The output voltages OUT1 and OUT2 can be programmed to regulate 1.5 V/5 V and 1.05 V/3.3 V outputs respectively or can deliver two adjustable output voltages. An optional external charge pump can be monitored.
This device embeds a linear regulator that can provide 3.3 V/5 V or an adjustable voltage from 0.7 V to 4.5 V output. The linear regulator provides up to 100 mA output current. LDO can be bypassed with the switching regulator outputs or with an external power supply (switchover function).
When in switchover, the LDO output can source up to 200 mA. |
PM67644-/6-phase VR12.5 digital multiphase controller with PMBus™ | Power Management (PMIC) | 1 | Obsolete | The PM6764/66 is a high performance digital controller designed to power Intel’s VR12.5 processors (PM6766) and memories (PM6764): all required parameters are programmable through a PMBus™ interface.
The device utilizes digital technology to implement all control and power management functions to provide maximum flexibility and performance. The NVM is embedded to store custom configurations.
The PM6764/66 device features up to 4/6-phase programmable operation. The PM6764/66 supports power state transitions featuring VFDE, and programmable DPM maintaining the best efficiency over all loading conditions without compromising transient response. The device assures fast and independent protection against load overcurrent, under/overvoltage and feedback disconnections. The device is available in VFQFPN28 4 x 4 mm (PM6764) and VFQFPN40 5 x 5 mm (PM6766) packages. |

PM8803High-efficiency, IEEE 802.3at compliant integrated PoE-PD interface and PWM controller | PMIC | 2 | Active | The PM8803 integrates a Power over Ethernet (PoE) interface and a current mode PWM controller to simplify the design of the power supply sections of all powered devices. The PoE/PoE+ interface includes all functions required by the IEEE 802.3at as well as detection, classification, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and inrush current limitation.
The PM8803 specifically performs IEEE802.3at Layer 1 hardware classification, providing the system with an indication of Type 2 PSE successful detection.
The PM8803 has been designed to work with power either from the Ethernet cable or from an external power source such as a wall adapter, ensuring the priority of the auxiliary source over the PoE. The DC-DC section of the PM8803 features a programmable oscillator frequency, an adjustable slope compensation, dual complementary low-side drivers, programmable dead time and an internal temperature sensor.
The PM8803 targets high-efficiency conversion under all load conditions supporting flyback, forward, forward with active clamp converters and synchronous rectification. |
PM8805IEEE 802.3bt PoE-PD interface with embedded dual active bridge | Power Management (PMIC) | 1 | Active | The PM8805 is a system-in-package for smart power supply of Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Devices (PD) and it is applicable for power level up to 99.9 W.
It embeds: two active bridges and their driving circuitry, a charge pump to drive the high-side MOSFETs, the hot swap MOSFET and the interface compliant with IEEE 802.3bt.
The device performs the physical layer classification, providing the indication of successful PSE type identification. A 4-pair PSE is identified and the information is available by a dedicated matrix of Tx signals.
The device works with power either from the Ethernet cable or from an external power source such as a wall adapter, with possible prevalence of the auxiliary source with respect to the PoE.
The PM8805 is suitable to build the interface section of PoE switch mode power supplies targeting the highest conversion efficiency. It provides a PGD signal that can be used to enable a PWM controller, a DC-DC converter or an LED driver. |
PM88344 A dual low side MOSFET driver | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 1 | Active | The PM8834 is a flexible, high-frequency dual low-side driver specifically designed to work with high capacitive MOSFETs and IGBTs.
Both PM8834 outputs can sink and source 4 A independently. A higher driving current can be obtained by connecting the two PWM outputs in parallel.
The PM8834 provides two enable pins which can be used to enable the operation of one or both of the output lines.
The PM8834 works with a CMOS/TTL-compatible PWM signal.
The device is available in an SO8 or an MSOP8 package with an exposed pad. |
PM88411A low-side gate driver | Gate Drivers | 1 | Active | The PM8841 is a high frequency single channel low-side MOSFET driver specifically designed to work with digital power conversion microcontrollers, such as the STMicroelectronics STLUX™ family of products.
The PM8841 output can sink 1 A and source 0.8 A.
The input levels of the driver are derived by the voltage present at the IN_TH pin (between 2 V and 5.5 V). This pin is typically connected at the same voltage of the microcontroller supply voltage.
The PM8841 device includes both input and output pull-down resistors.
UVLO circuitry for input and output stages is present preventing the IC from driving the external MOSFET in unsafe condition. |
