These devices are ideal for protecting systems with high data and clock rates or for circuits requiring low capacitive loading. Each ESD channel consists of a pair of diodes in series which steer the positive or negative ESD current pulse to either the positive (VP) or negative (VN) supply rail. The CM1216 protects against ESD pulses up to ±15kV per the IEC 61000-4-2 standard.
CM1218Low Capacitance Transient Voltage Suppressors / ESD Protectors	TVS Diodes	3	Active	The CM1218 family of devices features transient voltage suppressor arrays that provide a very high level of protection for sensitive electronic components which may be subjected to electrostatic discharge (ESD). All pins of the CM1218 are rated to withstand ±15kV ESD pulses using the IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge method. Using the MIL-STD-883D (Method 3015) specification for Human Body Model (HBM) ESD, all pins are protected from contact discharges of greater than ±30kV. The CM1218 is supplied in a number of compact, surface mount packages depending on the channel configuration desired. All versions of this device are available with optional lead-free finishing.

Each ESD channel features a nominal capacitance of 14pF making the devices ideal for protecting high speed I/O ports and LCD and camera data lines without significantly affecting signal integrity. The CM1220 integrates avalanche-type ESD diodes on every channel, providing a very high level of protection for sensitive electronic components that may be subjected to electrostatic discharge (ESD). These diodes safely dissipate ESD strikes of ±15kV, exceeding the maximum requirement of the IEC61000-4-2 international standard. Each ESD channel consists of a pair of diodes in series, which steer the positive or negative ESD current pulse to either the positive (VP) or negative (VN) supply rail. A Zener diode is embedded between VP and VN, to absorb positive ESD strikes and provide ESD protection for the VP rail. An additional diode is integrated to serve as backdrive current protection. The CM1223 protects against ESD pulses up to ±8kV per the IEC 61000-4-2 standard. In addition, all pins are protected from contact discharges of greater than ±15kV as outlined by the MIL-STD-883D (Method 3015) specification for Human Body Model (HBM)ESD. These devices are particularly well-suited for protecting systems using high-speed ports such as USB2.0,IEEE1394 (Firewire®, iLink™), serial ATA, DVI, HDMI and corresponding ports in removable storage, digital camcorders, DVD-RW drives, as well as other applications where extremely low loading capacitance with ESD protection are required in a small package footprint. These devices are ideal for protecting systems with high data and clock rates or for circuits requiring low capacitive loading. Each ESD channel consists of a pair of diodes in series which steer the positive or negative ESD current pulse to either the positive (VP) or negative (VN) supply rail. A Zener diode is embedded between VP and VN, offering two advantages. First, it protects the VCC rail against ESD strikes, and second, it eliminates the need for a bypass capacitor that would otherwise be needed for absorbing positive ESD strikes to ground. The CM1224 protects against ESD pulses up to ±8kV per the IEC 61000-4-2 standard. These devices are particularly well-suited for protecting systems using high-speed ports such as USB 2.0, IEEE1394 (Firewire®, iLink™), Serial ATA, DVI, HDMI and corresponding ports in removable storage, digital camcorders, as well as DVD-RW drives and other applications where extremely low loading capacitance with ESD protection are required.
