AD52721024-Position, 1% Resistor Tolerance Error, Single Channel I2C Interface and 50-TP Memory Digital Rheostat | Data Acquisition | 5 | Active | The AD5272 /AD5274are single-channel, 1024-/256-position digital rheostats that combine industry leading variable resistor performance with nonvolatile memory (NVM) in a compact package. The AD5272 / AD5274 ensure less than 1% end-to-end resistor tolerance error and offer 50-times programmable (50-TP) memory. The guaranteed industry leading low resistor tolerance error feature simplifies open-loop applications as well as precision calibration and tolerance matching applications. The AD5272 / AD5274 device wiper settings are controllable through the I2C-compatible digital interface. Unlimited adjustments are allowed before programming the resistance value into the 50-TP memory. The AD5272 / AD5274 do not require any external voltage supply to facilitate fuse blow and there are 50 opportunities for permanent programming. During 50-TP activation, a permanent blow fuse command freezes the wiper position (analogous to placing epoxy on a mechanical trimmer). The AD5272 / AD5274 are available in a 3 mm × 3 mm 10-lead LFCSP package and in a 10-lead MSOP package. The parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.ApplicationsMechanical rheostat replacementsOp-amp: variable gain controlInstrumentation: gain, offset adjustmentProgrammable voltage to current conversionsProgrammable filters, delays, time constantsProgrammable power supplySensor calibration |

AD5280Single/Dual, +15 V/±5 V, 256-Position, I2C-Compatible Digital Potentiometer | Digital Potentiometers | 4 | Active | The AD5280/AD5282 are single-channel and dual-channel, 256-position, digitally controlled variable resistors (VRs)2. The devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer, trimmer, or variable resistor. Each VR offers a completely programmable value of resistance between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 20 kΩ, 50 kΩ, or 200 kΩ has a 1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance. The nominal temperature coefficient of both parts is 30 parts per million/ degrees centigrade (ppm/°C). Another key feature is that the parts can operate up to +15 V or ±5 V.Wiper position programming defaults to midscale at system power-on. When powered, the VR wiper position is programmed by an I2C-compatible, 2-wire serial data interface. The AD5280/ AD5282 feature sleep mode programmability. This allows any level of preset in power-up and is an alternative to a costly EEPROM solution. Both parts have additional programmable logic outputs that enable users to drive digital loads, logic gates, LED drivers, and analog switches in their system. The AD5280/AD5282 are available in thin, surface-mounted 14-lead TSSOP and 16-lead TSSOP. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. For 3-wire SPI-compatible interface applica-tions, see theAD5260/AD5262product information onwww.analog.com.ApplicationsMultimedia, video, and audioCommunicationsMechanical potentiometer replacementInstrumentation: gain, offset adjustmentProgrammable voltage sourceProgrammable current sourceLine impedance matching1Assert shutdown and program the device during power-up, then deassert the shutdown to achieve the desired preset level.2The terms digital potentiometer, VR, and RDAC are used interchangeably. |

AD5290Compact +30 V / ±15 V, 256-Position Digital Potentiometer | Evaluation Boards | 4 | Active | The AD5290 is one of the few high voltage, high performance, and compact digital potentiometers1in the market at present. This device can be used as a programmable resistor or resistor divider. The AD5290 performs the same electronic adjustment function as mechanical potentiometers, variable resistors, and trimmers, with enhanced resolution, solid-state reliability, and superior temperature stability. With digital rather than manual control, the AD5290 provides layout flexibility and allows closed-loop dynamic controllability. The AD5290 is available in MSOP-10 package and has 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, and 100 kΩ options. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the –40°C to +125°C extended automotive temperature range.ApplicationsHigh voltage DACProgrammable power supplyProgrammable gain and offset adjustmentProgrammable filters and delaysActuator controlAudio volume controlMechanical potentiometer replacement1The RDAC segmentation is protected by U.S. Patent Number 5,495,245. |
