Description

General part information

HMC6000 Series

The HMC6000 devices are complete millimeter wave transmitters available in a chip (HMC6000) and an IC and low profile antenna integrated in a plastic 7 mm × 11 mm surface mount package (HMC6000LP711E). The HMC6000 devices operate from 57 GHz to 64 GHz with 1.8 GHz of modulation bandwidth. The surface mount package provides 23.5 dBm of EIRP over this range. An integrated synthesizer provides tuning in 500 MHz or 540 MHz step sizes depending on the choice of external reference clock. Support for a wide variety of modulation formats is provided through a universal analog baseband I/Q interface. The HMC6000 supports all single carrier WiGig modulations and optionally supports dedicated FSK/MSK modulation formats for lower cost and lower power serial data links without the need for high speed data converters. A differential output provides up to 12 dBm linear output power into a 100 Ω load. Together with the HMC6001 devices, a complete transmit/receive chipset is provided for multi-Gbps operation in the unlicensed 60 GHz ISM band.ApplicationsWireless Gigabit Alliance (WiGig) single carrier modulations60 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band data transmitterMulti-Gbps data communicationsHigh definition video transmissionRadio frequency identification (RFID)
