General part information
MIC28516 Series
The MIC28516/17 is a wide input range (4.5V-70V) integrated FET, 8A switching regulators. The MIC28516/17 is leveraging the latest enhanced high voltage COT controllers co-packaged with a pair of low FOM power trench N-Channel FETS with improved avalanche rating. The output voltage is adjustable down to 0.6V with +/- 1% accuracy. The MIC28517 offers a 'Mode" select pin allowing the user to choose in between Hyper Light load and Hyper Speed control operations. The Hyper Speed Control proprietary architecture allows for ultra-fast transient response while reducing the output capacitance. The MIC28516 offers the option of external "soft start" feature in place of "Mode" select pin allowing the user the flexibility to adjust soft start using an external capacitor. The MIC28516/17 offers a full suite of protection features to ensure safe operation of the device during fault conditions. These include UVLO, External soft start to reduce current inrush, hiccup current limit short circuit protection and thermal shutdown.
The MCP28516/17 is available in a 38 pin 6mm x 6mm PQFN with a junction operating range from –40°C to +125°C.
