BM83 Series

The BM83 is a Bluetooth® 5.0 certified dual-mode audio module. It is offered in multiple firmware variants, each of which contains an on-board Bluetooth stack and audio profiles and supports 24-bit/96 kHz high-resolution audio formats to enable high-fidelity wireless audio. An integrated Digital Signal Processor (DSP) decodes AAC and SBC codecs and executes advanced audio and voice processing such as Wide-Band (WB) speech, Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) and Noise Reduction (NR). This platform provides offers flexibility in customizing peripheral settings and DSP functionality with the use of a Windows® operating system-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) configuration tool. Our device is engineered for high levels of integration to reduce your engineering Bill of Materials (eBOM). An integrated power amplifier helps achieve longer range, and the embedded mode functionality enables system control without a host MCU.

Start playing music and receiving phone calls immediately with our pre-programmed firmware. Maintain product differentiation by deploying new features via USB, UART and Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware upgrades. The BM83SM1-00Ax implements Microchip's proprietary Wireless Concert Technology (WCT) that streams audio to multiple devices from the same audio source. With its tight speaker synchronization, WCT delivers uninterrupted music to a network of speakers for party streaming.

The BM83SM1-00Tx module implements A2DP source capability using Audio Transceiver (AT) firmware. This solution enables Bluetooth capability in non-Bluetooth Audio equipment via a dongle design. The BM83 receives audio inputs through Aux-in or I2S pin and streams the audio up to two Bluetooth paired sink devices. A Bluetooth audio sink device receives audio whereas a source device transmits audio to another Bluetooth sink device. A typical example is a smartphone (source) streaming audio to a speaker (sink).
