Description

General part information

MCP9984 Series

The MCP9984/MCP9984D are a high-accuracy, low-cost, 2-wire communication protocol (I 2 C/SMbus) temperature sensor.

The MCP9984/MCP9984D monitor 4 temperature channels. Advanced features such as Resistance Error Correction (REC), Beta Compensation (to support CPU diodes requiring the BJT/transistor model) and automatic diode type detection combine to provide a robust solution for complex environmental monitoring applications.

Resistance Error Correction automatically eliminates the temperature error caused by series resistance allowing greater flexibility in routing thermal diodes.
