Description

General part information

LAN8742A Series

Microchip's LAN8742A/LAN8742Ai are the latest generation of low-power, 10/100 Fast Ethernet PHYs featuring Wake-On-LAN functionality, which provides additional system sleep modes for improved power savings. The LAN8742A/LAN8742Ai feature deterministic loop back delay, assuring real-time system performance as well as cable diagnostics which reduce network installation costs. These devices are available in both commercial (0°C to 70°C) and industrial (-40°C to 85°C) temperature ranges.

The LAN8742A/LAN8742Ai are well-suited for Consumer, Embedded and Industrial applications. Additionally, these devices support auto-negotiation, auto-polarity correction, HP Auto-MDIX† and is compliant with IEEE 802.3 and 802.3u standards.

†HP Auto-MDIX eliminates the need for special "crossover" cables when connecting LAN devices together.
