FAN8831Sinusoidal Piezoelectric Actuator Driver with Step-Up DC-DC Converter | Power Management (PMIC) | 2 | Active | The FAN8831 is a single-chip piezoelectric actuator driver consisting of step-up DC-DC converter with integrated 36 V boost switch and a full-bridge output stage. The device is capable of driving a Piezo bi-directionally at 120 V peak to peak from a single 3 V lithium cell. The step-up DC-DC converter operates in critical conduction mode (CRM) and is optimized to work in a coupled inductor configuration to provide output voltages in excess of 60 V. Over-voltage protection, over -current protection, and thermal shutdown are all provided. An internal ready is used to enable the full-bridge gate driver when step-up DC-DC converter output voltage reaches the proper level with hysteresis. The boost voltage is set using external resistors, and step-up current limit is programmable via the external resistor at OCP pin. The output H-bridge features four integrated 75 V P and N-channel for sine wave drive of the Piezo actuator. |
FAN8841Dual Half-Bridge Piezoelectric Driver with Step-up DC-DC Converter | Full Half-Bridge (H Bridge) Drivers | 1 | Active | The FAN8841 is a single-chip piezoelectric actuator driver consisting of a step-up DC-DC converter with integrated 36 V boost switch and the dual half-bridge output stages. The step-up DC-DC converter operates in Critical Conduction Mode (CRM) in order to reduce switching loss at the DC-DC converter for high efficiency. It is optimized to work in a coupled-inductor configuration to provide output voltages in excess of 60 V. The step-up DC-DC converter has a soft-start capability that limits the inrush current during startup. Over-voltage protection and over-current protection are included. Under-voltage protection is used to disable the dual half-bridge gate driver when the step-up DC-DC converter output voltage is lower than the specified threshold voltage. The boost voltage is set using external resistors and analog voltage at the VCON pin and step-up current limit is programmable via the external resistor at the OCP pin. The output Half-bridge is integrated with 75 V P- and N-channel for the piezoelectric actuator driving. An open drain Fault-out (FO) signal indicates if an abnormal over-voltage has occurred. |
FAN9673Continuous Conduction mode (CCM) Power Factor Controller, Interleaved Three-Channel | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 1 | Obsolete | The FAN9673 is an interleaved three-channel Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller IC intended for PFC pre-regulators. Incorporating circuits for the implementation of leading edge, average current, and "boost"-type power factor correction; the FAN9673 enables the design of a power supply that fully complies with the IEC1000-3-2 specification. Interleaved operation provides substantial reduction in the input and output ripple currents and the conducted EMI filtering becomes easier and cost effective. An innovative channel management function allows the power level of the slave channels to be loaded and unloaded smoothly according to the setting voltage on the CM pin, improving the PFC converter’s load transient response. The FAN9673 also incorporates a variety of protection functions, including: peak current limiting, input voltage brown out protection, and TriFault Detect™ function. |
