The quiescent current of the MIC2920A increases only slightly in dropout, prolonging battery life. Key MIC2920A features include protection against reversed battery, fold-back current limiting, and automotive load-dump protection (60V positive transient).
The MIC2920 is available in several configurations. The MIC2920A-x.x devices are 3-pin fixed-voltage regulators available in 3.3V, 4.85V, 5V, and 12V outputs. The MIC29201 is a fixed regulator offering a logic-compatible shutdown input and an error flag output. This flag may also be used as a power-on reset signal. A logic-compatible shutdown input is provided on the adjustable MIC29202 that allows the regulator to be switched on and off. The MIC29204 8-pin SOIC adjustable regulator includes both shutdown and error flag pins and may be pin-strapped for 5V output or programmed from 1.24V to 26V using two external resistors. |

MIC29302A3.0A Fast-Response LDO | Power Management (PMIC) | 9 | Active | The MIC29302A is a high-current, low-cost, low-dropout voltage regulator which uses proprietary Super βeta PNP® process with a PNP pass element. The 3A LDO regulator features 450mV (full load) dropout voltage and very low ground current. Designed for high-current loads, these devices also find applications in lower current, low dropout-critical systems, where their dropout voltage and ground current values are important attributes.
Along with a total accuracy of ±2% (over temperature, line and load regulation) the regulator features very-fast transient recovery from input voltage surges and output load current changes.
The MIC29302A has an adjustable output which can be set by two external resistors to a voltage between 1.24V to 15V. In addition, the device is fully protected against over current faults, reversed input polarity, reversed lead insertion, and overtemperature operation. A TTL logic enable (EN) pin is available in the MIC29302A to shutdown the regulator. When not used, the device can be set to continuous operation by connecting EN to the input (IN). The MIC29302A is available in the standard and 5-pin TO-263 and TO-252 packages with an operating junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. |
