MCP16501Cost and Size Optimized PMIC for SAMA5DX/SAM9 | Power Management (PMIC) | 4 | Active | The MCP16501 is a cost and size optimized integrated PMIC, compatible with the latest Microchip’s Microprocessor Units (MPU) and associated DRAM Memories. The SAMA5, SAM9X60 and SAMA7G54 series MPUs are supported by dedicated PMIC variants programmed for the different supply voltages and power sequencing requirements.
The MCP16501 integrates three DC-DC Buck regulators and one auxiliary LDO, and provides a comprehensive interface to the MPU. All Buck channels can support loads up to 1A and are 100% duty cycle- capable. The 300 mA LDO is provided such that sensitive analog loads can be supported. The DDR memory voltage (Buck2 output) is selectable by means of a 3-state input pin. This method allows greater precision in the output voltage setting by eliminating inaccuracies due to external feedback resistors, while minimizing external component count. The voltage selection set allows easy migration across different generations of memory. The default power channel sequencing is built-in and configured to the requirements of the MPU. A dedicated pin (LPM) facilitates the transition to Low-Power modes and the implementation of Backup mode with DDR in self-refresh (Hibernate mode). The MCP16501 features a low no-load operational quiescent current and it draws less than 10 μA in full shutdown. Active discharge resistors are provided on each output. All Buck channels support safe start-up into pre-biased outputs.
The MCP16501 is available in a 24-pin 4 mm x 4 mm VQFN package with an operating junction temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. |

It is compatible with SAMA5DX and SAM9X6 MPUs, which are supported by dedicated device variants that optimize the solution BOM.
The MCP16502 integrates four DC-DC Buck regulators and two auxiliary LDOs, and provides a comprehensive interface to the MPU, which includes an interrupt flag and a 1 MHz I2C interface. All Buck channels can support loads up to 1A and are 100% duty cycle-capable. Two 300 mA LDOs are provided such that sensitive analog loads can be supported. The DDR memory voltage (Buck2 output) is selectable by means of a 3-state input pin. The voltage selection set allows easy migration across different generations of memory. The default power channel sequencing is built-in according to the requirements of the MPU. A dedicated pin (LPM) facilitates the transition to Low-Power modes and the implementation of Backup mode with DDR in self-refresh (Hibernate mode). The MCP16502 features a low no-load operational quiescent current and draws less than 10 μA in full shutdown. Active discharge resistors are provided on each output. All Buck channels support safe start-up into pre-biased outputs.
The MCP16502 is available in a 32-pin 5 mm x 5 mm VQFN package with an operating junction temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. MCP16502 is also available as AEC-Q100 qualified variant.

MCP1651750 KHz Step-Up DC/DC Controller w/Low Battery Detect | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 2 | Active | MCP1651 is a 750 kHz gated oscillator boost controller packaged in an 8 or 10-pin MSOP package. Developed for high-power, portable applica-tions, the gated oscillator controller can deliver 5 watts of power to the load while consuming only 120 µA of quiescent current at no load. MCP1650/51/52/53 can operate over a wide input voltage range (2.0V to 5.5V) to accommodate multiple primary-cell and single-cell Li-Ion battery-powered applications, in addition to 2.8V, 3.3V and 5.0V regulated input voltages. An internal 750 kHz gated oscillator makes the MCP1650/51/52/53 ideal for space-limited designs. High switching frequency minimizes the size of the external inductor and capacitor, saving board space and cost. The internal oscillator operates at two differ-ent duty cycles depending on the level of the input volt-age. By changing duty cycle in this fashion, the peak input current is reduced at high input voltages, reducing output ripple voltage and electrical stress on power train components. When the input voltage is low, the duty cycle changes to a larger value in order to provide full-power capability at a wide input voltage range typical of battery-powered, portable applications. The MCP1650/51/52/53 was designed to drive external switches directly using internal low-resistance MOSFETs. Additional features integrated on the MCP1650/51/52/ 53 family include peak input current limit, adjustable output voltage/current, low battery detection and power-good indication. |
MCP1652750 KHz Step-Up DC/DC Controller w/Power Good | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 4 | Active | The MCP1652 is a 750 kHz gated oscillator boost controller packaged in an 8 or 10-pin MSOP package. Developed for high-power, portable applications, the gated oscillator controller can deliver 5 watts of power to the load while consuming only 120 µA of quiescent current at no load. The MCP1652 can operate over a wide input voltage range (2.0V to 5.5V) to accommodate multiple primary-cell and singlecell Li-Ion battery-powered applications, in addition to 2.8V, 3.3V and 5.0V regulated input voltages. |
