SCH3221 is a 3.3V (5V tolerant) PC99/PC2001 compliant I/O controller with an
LPC interface. The SCH3221 includes 4 full-function serial ports, IrDA and
Consumer IR capability, GPIOs and extensive PME Wake support from these
features.
The SCH3221 is ACPI compatible and supports
multiple low power-down modes.
I/O
functionality includes four serial ports. The serial ports are fully
functional NS16550 compatible UARTs that support data rates up to 460 Kbps.
The PME Wake logic includes the ability to wake
from a watchdog timer, any of the UART Ring Indicator (RI) inputs, or GPIOs.

SCH5017Super I/O Controller | Specialized | 1 | Active | The SCH5017 is a 3.3V
(Super I/O Block is 5V tolerant) PC99/PC2001 compliant Super I/O
controller with an LPC interface. It includes Hardware Monitoring
capabilities, enhanced Security features, Power Control logic and
Motherboard Glue logic.
Provides support for
monitoring two external temperatures via thermal diode inputs and an
internal sensor for measuring ambient temperature and allows for a two- or
three-piece linear fan function. Complete legacy Super I/O
functionality including a floppy disk controller with SMSC's true CMOS
(Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) 765B core and enhanced digital
data separator are incorporated. The true CMOS 765B core provides 100%
compatibility with IBM PC/XTTM and PC/ATTM architectures
and is software and register compatible with SMSC's proprietary 82077AA
core. Additionally, it supports multiple low power-down modes
and incorporates sophisticated power control circuitry.
