ADM488A5 V, Slew-Rate Limited, Low Power, 250 kbps, Full Duplex EIA RS-485 Transceiver | Interface | 6 | Active | The ADM488A andADM489Aare low power, differential line transceivers suitable for communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. They are intended for balanced data transmission and comply with both RS-485 and RS-422 standards of the Electronics Industries Association (EIA). Both products contain a single differential line driver and a single differential line receiver, making them suitable for full-duplex data transfer. The ADM489A contains an additional receiver and driver enable control. The input impedance is 12 kΩ, allowing 32 transceivers to be connected on the bus. The ADM488A / ADM489A operate from a single 5 V ± 10% power supply.Excessive power dissipation that is caused by bus contention or output shorting is prevented by a thermal shutdown circuit. This feature forces the driver output into a high impedance state if, during fault conditions, a significant temperature increase is detected in the internal driver circuitry. The receiver contains a fail-safe feature that results in a logic high output state if the inputs are unconnected (floating). The ADM488A / ADM489A are fabricated on BiCMOS, an advanced mixed technology process combining low power CMOS with fast switching bipolar technology. The ADM488A / ADM489A are fully specified over the industrial temperature range and are available in SOIC and MSOP packages.APPLICATIONSLow power RS-485 and RS-422 systemsDTE-DCE interfacePacket switchingLocal area networksData concentrationData multiplexersIntegrated services digital network (ISDN) |
ADM4895 V, Slew-Rate Limited, Low Power, 250 kbps, Full Duplex EIA RS-485 Transceiver (with DE/RE) | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 4 | Active | TheADM488and ADM489 are low power differential line transceiver suitable for communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. They are intended for balanced data transmission and comply with both EIA Standards RS-485 and RS-422. Both products contains a single differential line driver and a single differential line receiver making them suitable for full duplex data transfer. The ADM489 contains an additional receiver and driver enable control. The input impedance is 12 kΩ, allowing 32 transceivers to be connected on the bus.The ADM488 / ADM489 operates from a single +5 V ± 10% power supply. Excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or by output shorting is prevented by a thermal shutdown circuit. This feature forces the driver output into a high impedance state if during fault conditions a significant temperature increase is detected in the internal driver circuitry. The receiver contains a fail-safe feature that results in a logic high output state if the inputs are unconnected (floating). ADM561Ultralow Power, Active High Shutdown and an Active Low Receiver Enable | Interface | 1 | Active | TheADM560/ ADM561 are four driver/five receiver interface devices designed to meet the EIA-232 standard while operating with a single +3.3 V power supply. The devices feature an on-board dc-to-dc converter, eliminating the need for dual ±5 V power supplies. This dc-dc converter contains a voltage doubler and voltage inverter which internally generates ±6.6 V from the input +3.3 V power supply. The ADM560 and ADM561 consume only 5 mW making them ideally suited for battery and other power-sensitive applications. A shutdown facility is also provided which reduces the power to 0.66 µW.The ADM560 contains active low shutdown and active high receiver enable signals. In shutdown mode, two receivers remain active thereby allowing monitoring of peripheral devices. This feature allows the device to be shut down until a peripheral device begins communication. The active receivers can alert the processor which can then take the ADM560 out of the shutdown mode. The ADM561 features active high shutdown and an active low receiver enable. In this device all receivers are disabled in shutdown. The ADM560 / ADM561 is fabricated using CMOS technology for minimal power consumption. It features a high level of over-voltage protection and latch-up immunity. The receiver inputs can withstand up to ±25 V levels. The transmitter inputs can be driven from either 3V or 5V logic levels. This allows operation in mixed 3 V/5 V power supply systems. The ADM560 / ADM561 is packaged in a 28-pin SO and a 28-pin SSOP package.APPLICATIONSNotebook computersPeripheralsModemsPrintersBattery-operated equipment |
ADM6306Multiple Input Programmable Supervisory ICs | Power Management (PMIC) | 4 | Active | TheADM6305/ ADM6306 are dual voltage supervisors designed to monitor two supplies and provide a reset signal to DSP- and microprocessor-based systems. Low supply current and a small form factor make these devices suitable for portable and battery-operated applications. If a monitored power supply voltage falls below the minimum voltage threshold, a single active low output asserts triggering a system reset. Once all voltages rise above the selected threshold level, the reset signal remains low for the reset timeout period. Four reset timeout options are available. The ADM6305 monitors two supplies via two adjustable resistor-programmable undervoltage reset inputs. Both RST IN1 and RST IN2 have a reset threshold of either 0.4 V or 1.23 V depending on the particular model; that is, the RST IN1 and RST IN2 threshold of the ADM6305DxARJZ model is 1.23 V, while in the case of ADM6305DxARJZ1 model, it is 0.4 V. The VCCinput of the ADM6305 is not a monitored input. The ADM6306 has one adjustable undervoltage reset input, RST IN, which features a choice of reset threshold, 0.4 V or 1.23 V (see the Ordering Guide for more information). The ADM6306 incorporates a variety of internally pretrimmed VCCundervoltage threshold options for monitoring supply voltages in increments between 2.5 V and 5 V. The ADM6306 also includes a manual reset input. The ADM6305 / ADM6306RESEToutput remains valid as long as VCCexceeds 0.9 V.The ADM6305 / ADM6306 are available in a 5-lead SOT-23 package. These devices are specified over the temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.APPLICATIONSPortable/battery-operated equipmentMicroprocessor systemsMultivoltage applications |

ADM6316Supervisory Circuit with Watchdog, Manual Reset, and Active-Low/Push-Pull | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 12 | Active | The ADM6316/ADM6318/ADM6319/ADM6320/ADM6321/ADM6322are supervisory circuits that monitor power supply voltage levels and code execution integrity in microprocessor-based systems. As well as providing power-on reset signals, an on-chip watchdog timer can reset the microprocessor if it fails to strobe within a preset timeout period. A reset signal can also be asserted by an external push button through a manual reset input. The seven devices feature different combinations of watchdog input, manual reset input, and output stage configuration, as shown in Table 1 of the data sheet. Each device is available in a choice of 26 reset threshold options ranging from 2.5 V to 5 V in 100 mV increments. There are also four reset timeout options of 1 ms, 20 ms, 140 ms, and 1120 ms (minimum) and four watchdog timeout options of 6.3 ms, 102 ms, 1600 ms, and 25.6 sec (typical). Not all device options are released for sale as standard models. See the Ordering Guide in the data sheet for details. The ADM6316/ADM6318/ADM6319/ADM6320/ADM6321/ADM6322 are available in 5-lead SOT-23 packages and typically consume only 3 μA, making them suitable for use in low power portable applications.APPLICATIONSMicroprocessor systemsComputers and controllersIntelligent instrumentsPortable equipment |
