AD5263Quad, 15 V, 256-Position Digital Potentiometer with Pin-Selectable SPI/I2C | Data Acquisition | 10 | Active | The AD5263 is the industry’s first quad-channel, 256-position, digital potentiometer1with a selectable digital interface. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as mechanical potentiometers or variable resistors, with enhanced resolution, solid-state reliability, and superior low temperature coefficient performance. Each channel of the AD5263 offers a completely programmable value of resistance between the A terminal and the wiper or between the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 20 kΩ, 50 kΩ, or 200 kΩ has a nominal temperature coefficient of ±30 ppm/°C and a ±1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance. Another key feature of this part is the ability to operate from +4.5 V to +15 V, or at ±5 V.Wiper position programming presets to midscale upon power-on. Once powered, the VR wiper position is programmed by either the 3-wire SPI or 2-wire I2C-compatible interface. In the I2C mode, additional programmable logic outputs enable users to drive digital loads, logic gates, and analog switches in their systems. The AD5263 is available in a narrow body, 24-lead TSSOP. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the automotive temperature range of –40°C to +125°C.For single- or dual-channel applications, refer to theAD5260/AD5280orAD5262/AD5282data sheets.APPLICATIONS:Mechanical potentiometer replacementOptical network adjustmentInstrumentation: gain, offset adjustmentStereo channel audio level controlAutomotive electronics adjustmentProgrammable power supplyProgrammable filters, delays, time constantsLine impedance matchingLow resolution DAC/trimmer replacementBase station power amp biasingSensor calibration |

AD5271256-Position, 1% Resistor Tolerance Error, SPI Interface and 50-TP Memory Digital Rheostat | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 6 | Active | TheAD5270/AD5271 are single-channel, 1024-/256-position digital rheostats that combine industry leading variable resistor performance with nonvolatile memory (NVM) in a compact package. The AD5270/AD5271 ensure less than 1% end-to-end resistor tolerance error and offer 50-times programmable (50-TP) memory. The guaranteed industry leading low resistor tolerance error feature simplifies open-loop applications as well as precision calibration and tolerance matching applications. The AD5270/AD5271 device wiper settings are controllable through the SPI digital interface. Unlimited adjustments are allowed before programming the resistance value into the 50-TP memory. The AD5270/AD5271 do not require any external voltage supply to facilitate fuse blow and there are 50 opportunities for permanent programming. During 50-TP activation, a permanent blow fuse command freezes the resistance position (analogous to placing epoxy on a mechanical trimmer). The AD5270/AD5271 are available in a 3 mm × 3 mm, 10-lead LFCSP package and in a 10-lead MSOP package. The parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.ApplicationsMechanical potentiometer replacementsOp-amp: variable gain controlInstrumentation: gain, offset adjustmentProgrammable voltage-to-current conversionsProgrammable filters, delays, time constantsProgrammable power supplySensor calibration |

AD527364-Position, One-Time-Programmable (OTP) Digital Potentiometer | Evaluation Boards | 11 | Active | The AD5273 is a 64-position, one-time programmable (OTP) digital potentiometer4that employs fuse link technology to achieve permanent program setting. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as most mechanical trimmers and variable resistors. It allows unlimited adjustments before permanently setting the resistance values. The AD5273 is programmed using a 2-wire, I2C®-compatible digital control. During write mode, a fuse blow command is executed after the final value is determined, thereby freezing the wiper position at a given setting (analogous to placing epoxy on a mechanical trimmer). When the permanent setting is achieved, the value does not change, regardless of the supply variations or environ-mental stresses under normal operating conditions. To verify the success of permanent programming, Analog Devices, Inc., patterned the OTP validation such that the fuse status can be discerned from two validation bits in the read mode.In addition, for applications that program the AD5273 at the factory, Analog Devices offers device programming software2running on Windows NT®, Windows®2000, and Windows XP operating systems. This software application effectively replaces any external I2C controllers, which in turn enhances the user system’s time-to-market.The AD5273 is available in 1 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, and 100 kΩ resistances and in a compact 8-lead SOT-23 standard package. It operates from −40°C to +105°C.Along with its unique OTP feature, the AD5273 lends itself well to general digital potentiometer applications due to its effective resolution, array resistance options, small footprint, and low cost.An AD5273 evaluation kit and software are available. The kit includes the connector and cable that can be converted for factory programming applications. For applications that require dynamic adjustment of resistance settings with nonvolatile EEMEM, refer to theAD5231,AD5232,AD5233, andAD5235family, and theAD5251,AD5252,AD5254,AD5258, andAD5259family of nonvolatile memory digital potentiometers.APPLICATIONSSystem calibrationsElectronics level settingsMechanical potentiometers and trimmer replacementTransducer circuit adjustmentsProgrammable filters up to 6 MHz BW31OTP allows unlimited adjustments before permanent setting.2Analog Devices cannot guarantee the software to be 100% compatible to all systems due to the wide variation in computer configurations.3Applies to 1 kΩ parts only.4The terms digital potentiometer, VR, and RDAC are used interchangeably. |

AD5291256-/1024-Position, Digital Potentiometers with Maximum ±1% R-Tolerance Error and 20-TP Memory | Digital Potentiometers | 6 | Active | The AD5291 and AD5292 are single-channel, 256-/1024-position digital potentiometers that combine industry leading variable resistor performance with nonvolatile memory (NVM) in a compact package. These devices are capable of operating across a wide voltage range, supporting both dual supply operation at ±10.5 V to ±16.5 V and single supply operation at +21 V to +33 V, while ensuring less than 1% end-to-end resistor tolerance error and offering 20-time programmable (20-TP) memory. The guaranteed industry leading low resistor tolerance error feature simplifies open-loop applications as well as precision calibration and tolerance matching applications. The AD5291 and AD5292 device wiper settings are controllable through the SPI digital interface. Unlimited adjustments are allowed before programming the resistance value into the 20-TP memory. The AD5291 and AD5292 do not require any external voltage supply to facilitate fuse blow, and there are 20 opportunities for permanent programming. During 20-TP activation, a permanent blow fuse command freezes the wiper position (analogous to placing epoxy on a mechanical trimmer). The AD5291 and AD5292 are available in a compact 14-lead TSSOP package.
