MAX9003Low-Power, High-Speed, Single-Supply Op Amp Comparator Reference ICs | Special Purpose Amplifiers | 6 | Active | The MAX9000 family features the combination of a high-speed operational amplifier, a 185ns comparator, and a precision 1.230V reference. These devices operate from a single +2.5V to +5.5V supply and draw less than 500µA of quiescent current. The MAX9001/MAX9004 feature a shutdown mode that reduces supply current to 2µA and puts the outputs into a high-impedance state, making them ideal for portable and battery-powered applications. The amplifiers in the MAX9000/MAX9001/MAX9002 are unity-gain stable with a 1.25MHz gain-bandwidth product, while the amplifiers in the MAX9003/MAX9004/MAX9005 are stable for closed-loop gains of +10V/V or greater with an 8MHz gain-bandwidth product. The input common-mode voltage extends from 150mV below the negative supply to within 1.2V of the positive supply for the amplifier, and to within 1.1V for the comparator. The amplifier and comparator outputs can swing rail-to-rail and deliver up to ±2.5mA and ±4.0mA, respectively, to an external load while maintaining excellent DC accuracy. The unique design of the comparator output stage substantially reduces switching current during output transitions, virtually eliminating power-supply glitches. The comparator's ±2mV of built-in hysteresis provides noise immunity and prevents oscillations even with a slow-moving input signal. The MAX9000/MAX9001/MAX9003/MAX9004 have an internal 1.230V ±1% precision reference with a low 8ppm/°C temperature coefficient that can sink or source up to 1mA. The amplifier and reference are stable with capacitive loads up to 250pF and 100nF, respectively. The comparator's inverting input is internally connected to the reference output in the MAX9000/MAX9003.ApplicationsInfrared Receivers for Remote ControlsInstruments, Terminals, and Bar-Code ReadersKeyless EntryPhotodiode PreampsSensor Signal DetectionSingle-Supply Zero-Crossing DetectorsSmart Card Readers |

MAX901SOT23, Dual, Precision, 1.8V, Nanopower Comparators With/Without Reference | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 28 | Active | The single MAX9015/MAX9016 and dual MAX9017–MAX9020 nanopower comparators in space-saving SOT23 packages feature Beyond-the-Rails™ inputs and are guaranteed to operate down to 1.8V. The A-grade packages feature an on-board 1.236V ±1% reference, while the B-grade packages feature a 1.24V ±1.75% reference. An ultra-low supply current of 0.85µA (MAX9019/MAX9020), 1µA (MAX9015/MAX9016), or 1.2µA (MAX9017/MAX9018) makes the MAX9015–MAX9020 family of comparators ideal for all 2-cell battery monitoring/management applications. The unique design of the MAX9015–MAX9020 output stage limits supply-current surges while switching, which virtually eliminates the supply glitches typical of many other comparators. This design also minimizes overall power consumption under dynamic conditions. The MAX9015/MAX9017/MAX9019 have a push-pull output stage that sinks and sources current. Large internal output drivers allow rail-to-rail output swing with loads up to 6mA. The MAX9016/MAX9018/MAX9020 have an open-drain output stage that makes them suitable for mixed-voltage system design. All devices are available in the ultra-small 8-pin SOT23 package.Refer to the MAX9117–MAX9120 data sheet for similar single comparators with or without reference in a tiny SC70 package.Applications2-Cell Battery Monitoring/ManagementAutomotiveDiscriminatorsMedical InstrumentsMobile CommunicationsNotebooks and PDAsSensing at Ground or Supply LineTelemetry and Remote SystemsThreshold DetectorsUltra-Low Power SystemsWindow Detectors |
MAX9010SC70, 5ns, Low-Power, Single-Supply, Precision TTL Comparators | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 2 | Active | The MAX9010/MAX9011/MAX9013 single and MAX9012 dual, high-speed comparators operate from a single 4.5V to 5.5V power supply and feature low-current consumption. They have precision differential inputs and TTL outputs. They feature short propagation delay (5ns, typ), low-supply current, and a wide common-mode input range that includes ground. They are ideal for low-power, high-speed, single-supply applications. The comparator outputs remain stable through the linear region when driven with slow-moving or low input-overdrive signals, eliminating the output instability common to other high-speed comparators. The input voltage range extends to 200mV below ground with no output phase reversal. The MAX9013 features complementary outputs and both the MAX9011/MAX9013 have a latch enable input (LE). The MAX9013 is an improved plug-in replacement for the industry-standard MAX913 and LT1016/LT1116, offering lower power and higher speed when used in a single 5V supply application. For space-critical designs, the single MAX9010 is available in the tiny 6-pin SC70 package. The single MAX9011 is available in a space-saving 6-pin SOT23 package. The dual MAX9012 and the single MAX9013 are available in 8-pin µMAX® and 8-pin SO packages. All products in the family are guaranteed over the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.ApplicationsBattery-Powered ApplicationsFast Pulse Height/Width DiscriminatorsHigh-Speed Line ReceiversHigh-Speed Sampling CircuitsHigh-Speed Signal SquaringHigh-Speed TriggeringSwitching RegulatorsZero-Crossing Detectors |
