Description

AI
The ATMXT640UD touchscreen controller includes three families aimed at display sizes up to 10-inch: · General industrial/medical/payment (with Device Encryption): mXT640UD 2.0 · General Industrial Windows OS (with HID protocol): mXT640UD 1.0 · Home Appliances (with IEC/UL 60730 Class B functional safety certification): MXT640UD-HA1 and [MXT448UD-HA1](https://www.microchip.com/en-us/product/ATMXT448UD) Proprietary differential touch sensing delivers unparalleled noise immunity ensuring superior touch performance even in harsh environments. It enables detection and tracking of multi-finger thick gloved touch through a wide variety of overlay materials and thicknesses, even in the presence of moisture, water and even salt water. This SNR combined with a high acquisition speed provides a fast, accurate and reliable a touch position. The controller also incorporates a new self and sensor diagnostic function, which constantly monitors the integrity of the touch system The HA1 versions are aimed at the home appliance market where Functional Safety is required. These devices are IEC/UL 60730 certified and offer unique safety-related features that enable system shut off through an intuitive soft button on a touchscreen, removing the requirement for an external safety certified stop or cancel button and associated microcontroller (MCU). They also allow an appliance to detect a touchscreen failure and shut down the appliance automatically through a variety of self-test capabilities.
