Description
General part information
FAN53840 Series
The FAN53840 is a Power Management IC (PMIC) for mobile power applications such as camera modules. The PMIC contains a high−power regulated channel for digital rails which can operate with an input as low as 1.0 V. Three channels are designed for ultra−low noise and high PSRR for sensitive analog/RF circuit loads. Each channel can be configured to operate as a pass−through load−switch, which reduces the input to output voltage drop and operating currents in critical low power applications. The FAN53840 provides the circuitry for setting and executing start-ups and shut-downs where the outputs can be individually controlled by setting I2C register bits. The PMIC monitors the voltage on each input and prevents the channel from operating if the voltage is below a safe operating level. In LDO mode, the device limits the current of each channel and protects againts short-circuits. Additionally, in LDO mode, if the device temperature rises too high, the device will shut down until the temperature cools to a safe operating level.
