Description

General part information

HMC6001 Series

The HMC6001 devices are complete millimeter wave receivers available in a superheterodyne chip (HMC6001) and an IC and low profile antenna integrated in a plastic surface mount package (HMC6001LP711E). The receivers include a low noise amplifier (LNA), image reject filter, radio frequency (RF) to IF downconverter, IF filter, I/Q downconverter, and frequency synthesizer. The receivers operate from 57 GHz to 64 GHz with 1.8 GHz of modulation bandwidth (double sided modulation for the HMC6001). An integrated synthesizer provides tuning in 500 MHz or 540 MHz step sizes depending on the choice of external reference clock. Support for a wide variety of modulation formats is provided through a universal analog baseband I/Q interface. The receiver chip (HMC6001) supports all single carrier WiGig modulations and optionally supports dedicated FSK/MSK modulation formats for lower cost and lower power serial data links without the need for high speed data converters. LNA and adjustable gain IF stages provide 6 dB typical noise figure with AGC support on the HMC6001. Together with the HMC6000 devices, a complete transmit/receive chipset is provided for multi-Gbps operation in the unlicensed 60 GHz ISM band.ApplicationsWireless Gigabit Alliance (WiGig) single carrier modulations60 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band data transmitterMulti-Gbps data communicationsHigh definition video transmissionRadio frequency identification (RFID)
