Description
General part information
HMC260 Series
The HMC260 devices are double-balanced mixers available as a passive chip (HMC260) and a general purpose, leadless RoHS compliant SMT package (HMC260LC3B), both of which can be used as an upconverter or downconverter between 14 GHz and 26 GHz. These mixers require no external components or matching circuitry and provide excellent LO to RF and LO to IF suppression due to optimized balun structures. The mixer operates with LO drive levels greater than 9 dBm. Measurements for the HMC260 were made with the chip mounted and bonded into in a 50 Ω test fixture. Data includes the parasitic effects of wire bond assembly. Connections were made with a 3 mil ribbon bond with minimal length (<12 mil). The HMC260LC3B eliminates the need for wire bonding, allowing use of surface mount manufacturing techniques.ApplicationsPoint-to-point radiosPoint-to-multipoint radios and very small aperture terminal (VSAT)Test equipment and sensorsMilitary end use
