The SG79xxA/SG79xx series of negative regulators offer self-contained, fixed voltage capability with up to 1.5A of load current and input voltage up to -30V. With a variety of output voltages this regulator series is an optimum complement to the SG7800A/SG7800 positive three terminal regulators. These units feature a unique band gap reference which allows the SG79xxA series to be specified with an output voltage tolerance of ±1.5%. The SG79xxA versions also offer much improved line regulation characteristics. All protective features of thermal shutdown, current limiting, and safe-area control have been designed into these units and since these regulators require only a single output capacitor (SG79xx series) or a capacitor and 5mA minimum load (SG120 series) for satisfactory performance, ease of application is assured. Although designed as fixed-voltage regulators, the output voltage can be increased through the use of a simple voltage divider. The low quiescent drain current of the device insures good regulation when this method is used. These devices are available in hermetically sealed TO-257 (both case grounded ‘G’ and isolated ‘IG’), TO-3, TO-39, and LCC packages.

The device can be used in systems where either one-way or mutual authentication is desired. For systems that use mutual authentication the SHA104 should be used in conjunction with the SHA105 or other CryptoAuthentication host side devices to make sure your symmetric key is also protected in the host.

The SHA105 is a member of the CryptoAuthentication product family. The device provides 128-bits of symmetric security targeted for disposable and ecosystem control applications and is intended to be used as a companion device with Microchip or other vendor’s microcontrollers. The device can be used in systems where either one-side or mutual authentication is desired. The SHA105 operates as the host side device in systems with mutual authentication. Consider using the SHA104 for the client symmetric key on your disposable or accessory system.

The SHA106 is a 2-pin package secure authentication IC for disposable applications. The device embeds a SHA256 hardware accelerator and 4 slot of key storage. The 2-pin form factor integrates a capacitor within the IC which provides parasitic power capability. The disposable only needs a power and GND pin as the data are run over the power pin. This compact form factor is ideal for application with restrained I/O on the controller or the disposable itself and/or space constrained. Check out the SHA104 for identical cryptographic function but with standard SOIC8 and uDFN8 package or 3-pin pin variant with VCC, Data, GND). If you desire protection of the symmetric key on the host, the SHA105 is the host companion secure authentication IC.
