LTC1707High Efficiency Monolithic Synchronous Step-Down Switching Regulator | PMIC | 4 | Active | The LTC1707 is a high efficiency monolithic current mode synchronous buck regulator using a fixed frequency architecture. The operating supply range is from 8.5V down to 2.85V, making it suitable for both single and dual lithium-ion battery-powered applications. Burst Mode operation provides high efficiency at low load currents. 100% duty cycle provides low dropout operation, extending operating time in battery-powered systems. The switching frequency is internally set at 350kHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors. For noise sensitive applications it can be externally synchronized up to 550kHz. Burst Mode operation is inhibited during synchronization or when the SYNC/MODE pin is pulled low preventing low frequency ripple from interfering with audio circuitry. Soft-start is provided by an external capacitor. The internal synchronous MOSFET switch increases efficiency and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode, saving components and board space. Low output voltages down to 0.8V are easily achieved due to the 0.8V internal reference. The LTC1707 comes in an 8-lead SO package.ApplicationsCellular TelephonesPortable InstrumentsWireless ModemsRF CommunicationsDistributed Power SystemsSingle and Dual Cell Lithium |
LTC1708-PGDual Adjustable 5-Bit VID High Efficiency, 2-Phase Current Mode Synchronous Buck DC/DC Regulator Controller | Integrated Circuits (ICs) | 2 | Active | The LTC1708 is a dual adjustable 5-bit VID programmable step-down switching regulator controller that drives all N-Channel power MOSFET stages. A constant frequency current mode architecture allows adjustment of the frequency up to 300kHz. Power loss and noise due to the ESR of the input capacitance are minimized by operating the two main controller output stages out of phase.OPTI-LOOP compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of output capacitance and ESR values. The precision 0.8V reference is compatible with future microprocessor generations, and a wide 3.5V to 30V (36V maximum) input supply range that encompasses all battery chemistries. A power good output indicates when the output voltages are within 7.5% of their programmed value.A RUN/SS pin for each controller provides both soft-start and an optional timed, short-circuit shutdown. Other protection features include: internal foldback current limiting and an output overvoltage crowbar. The forced continuous control pin (FCB) can be used to inhibit BurstMode operation or to regulate a third, flyback output.ApplicationsNotebook and Palmtop Computers, PDAsPortable Instruments |
LTC17092-Phase, 5-Bit VID, Current Mode, High Efficiency, Synchronous Step-Down Switching Regulators | DC DC Switching Controllers | 5 | Active | The LTC1709-8/LTC1709-9 are 2-phase, VID programmable, synchronous step-down switching regulator controllers that drive two all N-channel external power MOSFET stages in a fixed frequency architecture. The 2-phase controller drives its two output stages out of phase at frequencies from 150kHz to 300kHz to minimize the RMS ripple currents in both input and output capacitors. The 2-phase technique effectively multiplies the fundamental frequency by two, improving transient response while operating each channel at an optimum frequency for efficiency. Thermal design is also simplified. An internal differential amplifier provides true remote sensing of the regulated supply’s positive and negative output terminals as required for high current applications. The RUN/SS pin provides soft-start and optional timed, short-circuit shutdown. Current foldback limits MOSFET dissipation during short-circuit conditions when the overcurrent latchoff is disabled. OPTI-LOOP compensation allows the transient response to be optimized for a wide range of output capacitors and ESR values.
