Description

The FSA9591 is a USB accessory detection switch with an integrated lithium ion (Li+) linear battery charger. The FSA9591 is capable of detecting factory test modes, car kit type 1 and travel adapter charger, USB data port, and USB chargers. Compliant with the USB battery charging rev. 1.1 specification, the FSA9591 can detect USB Standard Downstream Ports (SDP), Dedicated Charging Ports (DCP), and Charging Downstream Ports (CDP).The integrated linear charger uses constant current, constant voltage, and thermal control loops to charge Li+ batteries and provide protection. The FSA9591 also includes two programmable LDOs, capable of supplying 300 mA each, for powering other devices in mobile phones. Battery presence detection via DETBAT_N and charging current sensing through VICHG are also provided. VBUS_IN pin can tolerate up to 28 V.
